My Story

First of all, I am starting this blog to document my obsession that I am having right now. All weekend I have been scoping out every single "Mommy-to-be" website that is known to mankind. Its actually quite addictive but also quite annoying! My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since we got married in June of 2009! A long time, I know! It seems like eternity to me, especially when every woman I know is getting pregnant at the drop of a pin.

This past February I finally got up the courage to go see a NEW doctor. The one I had before was a nurse practioner and my husband didn't seem to think she knew what she was talking about. Every single word that came out of her mouth was BIRTH CONTROL! And, NEWS FLAST, that's the LAST thing I want to take when I WANT to get PREGNANT!

So, this new doctor didn't have to go through the whole "meeting stages" that an obgyn usually would. I told her my issues and she KNEW exactly what it was! It was as if the Heavens opened up and rejoiced with a burst of light!! She told me I have a small case of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Well...that would explain why I hadn't gotten pregnant yet! I was having abnormal periods that would last FOREVER! So, obviously I wasn't ovulating. She put me on Metformin and told me the experience of one of her other patients who was taking it.

The girl was on birth control because she DIDN'T want to get pregnant! Doctor told her she had PCOS, gave her metformin to regulate her and BAM!!! She was pregnant within a month of taking her it AND her birth control!!

So, needless to say, I have been on a baby kick ever since taking it. I actually had my FIRST normal period on April 12. The Baby Fever has really kicked in VERY HEAVILY since then!

I am actually feeling some symptoms but that could just be in my head. I guess I will just have to wait and see!!
